FEATURED SUCCESS STORIES THROUGH PANDEMIC

A note from new kitten mom during COVID-19

We checked in with Frankie & Olivia's mom, to see what it's like having two new kittens at home through the pandemic and events of 2020.

"Best thing that has happened to our family this year by far! Frankie loves to make an appearance on my work zoom calls by climbing up the side of my chair which everyone enjoys. They are so great with the kids too. Olivia sleeps on the top bunk with Oliver every night. Frankie likes to make the rounds. Thank you, thank you, thank you for rescuing them"

Puppy siblings rescued from high kill shelter

Phoenix & Sedona were rescued from a struggling high kill shelter in Arizona. They were angels from the start and stole everyone's hearts.

Within weeks, the sisters found their forever guardians and have already made new friends. They continue to get medical care through our partner hospital, Animal Wellness Centers, until spayed and neutered.

Animal Wellness Foundation is serious about completing spay and neuter surgeries and integral vaccines for all our animals.

Prince gets his special needs met - forever!

Many of you know Prince or his story.

Prince was a shelter rescue, surrendered from a history we will never know anything about. His next adopters neglected to stay proactive with us on his medical care so we could treat his ongoing condition. Prince has a condition where painful benign cysts recurrently grow back after removal. He also has separation anxiety.

Since in our care, he has been through 3 successful surgeries, multiple (wonderful) fosters and has struggled to find adopters who would commit to his needs for the long haul.

His latest foster fell in love and showed commitment from the very start, being very involved in the details of his health and taking him along everywhere - just the way Prince likes. She recently made Prince officially her companion. We're over the moon for them.

Senior Siamese Rescued before Euthanasia - now adopted

With seniors being overlooked and turned away too often because of appearance and typical medical issues that arise with age, we are beyond grateful to the compassionate people who foster and adopt senior animals. Coco was almost euthanized due to a misdiagnosis and lack of understanding from former guardian.

Coco found a lovely foster-to-adopt family in a home where she is welcomed, comfortable and thriving. A big thanks for the help of our beloved volunteers!

The Animal Wellness Foundation Emergency Relief Fund

The Animal Wellness Foundation has created the COVID-19 Relief Fund to help pet owners in Southern California with food and medical services for their animals if they've lost a job and are facing an economic hardship in caring for their animals during the current national crisis.  The program will concentrate in the Los Angeles and Southern California, but we will partner with other vet hospitals in other parts of the state where there is support for our fund.  All donations are tax-deductible.

Animal Wellness Foundation helps animals by making veterinary care available to everyone with a pet, regardless of economic ability; by organizing rescue and rehoming efforts for animals in need and by getting veterinarians to the front lines of the animal welfare movement.

Advocating for Animal Protection
