Forever Feature: MACK
Mack was surrendered to the West Valley Animal Shelter back in February. He was in poor health, infested with fleas, and dealing with serious ear and skin infections. Staff and volunteers worked together to give him medical attention, daily care and socialization.

Mack found a foster in April, where he met his forever best friend bulldog named Gia (depicted on the right). The family was a match and now Mack is living his best life being adored by mom and playing with his bestie. Their home is sunny, spacious and filled with fun things for bulldogs!

Cooper (now Krash)

Cooper was returned after his former family got a new puppy that Cooper was a little jealous of. Cooper is now loved by his new dad, Clay, where he is the only doggie and gets all the attention!
Topaz (now Foxy)

"Foxy has a house and a big yard. She loves investigating the yard. She now has a big sister, Honey. Foxy is a sweet sweet girl. She is already coming out of her shell, she's a total cuddle bug. Thank you so much for saving her life!!"

- Cat

Rosey's Puppies: Delilah, Ruthie, Cocoa, Sox, Abigail & Samson

Remember back in February when Rosey was rescued out of the South LA shelter on the day her babies were born? Fast forward, after a few months in their loving foster home, each puppy has a new family to call their own!

Bandit

"Bandit is doing great! He now has the run of the house but he most enjoys hanging out in my daughter’s room, where he can lie on her bed and enjoy the ocean view. He and the dog have now met up several times and will sniff each other but otherwise aren’t very interested in one another. He’s very relaxed and now meows when he wants us to pet him more. We’re very excited to have him as part of our family!"

- Mindy

Millhaus (now Gordy)

"Honestly, we were planning on taking our time to find a cat to adopt, but he just melted our hearts immediately and we had to take him home. He is doing really well in his new home. We have made sure to get all of the essentials for him -- toothbrush, hairbrush, etc.. He is so easy going -- even when he is eating his food he doesn't mind people coming up and interacting with him. We are in love with Milhaus (now named Gordy)."

- Ethan

Chris - blind kitty
Chris came to us with his 2-week old siblings back in November. He was the runt of the litter, malnourished and experiencing serious eye issues that led to both eyes being safely removed. Chris never lost spirit! He stayed loving and spunky the whole way through. He is now happier and healthier than ever. After months in his loving foster home, and various meet and greets later, Chris finally met his match: a loving cat experienced couple with their own blind male kitty to be buddies with Chris!

"Chris is doing really well! He's been obsessed with playing with Brighton underneath the door. I let the two of them meet a few times briefly Sunday evening..He cried a lot the first night, but after discovering we were very snuggly, he did just fine."

- Katrina

Cod (now Blue)

"Everything is going really well. She’s so sweet and very patient with the kids. They absolutely adore her. She figured out her litter box from day one and she always wants to curl up and be around us. "

- Brittany

Cutieboo

"Cutie has transitioned beautifully and made herself right at home. Her and Jorah have even begun chasing each other and playing a little. They’re having so much fun playing together!"

- Jessica
Brownie found his forever!
Brownie was given up twice and luckily got into the hands of a good samaritan who brought him to us. He unfortunately had a one-year-old broken leg that had never been treated! Brownie amazed everyone with his affectionate, sweet and happy self. His detached and no longer working leg was removed successfully by staff at our sister hospital, Animal Wellness Centers, and he recovered immediately! After going into a brief foster home, Brownie met his new parents and best buddie! Congrats, Brownie! You deserve it!

Kingston

"Kingston is the best!  He is adapting really well. Thank you for rescuing him. He is the perfect little walking buddy and a total cuddle bug. Here is a photo of him all snuggled up after the groomer. "

- Fern
Bo

"Bo is doing great! He is such a sweet boy. He did not like the crate so now he has two new beds one next to the sofa and one next to the bed. His trainer says he is thriving and he's making new friends every week!"

- Patricia

Our Adoption Process

Our adoption process was designed to help ensure that we select the best homes for our animals and includes a questionnaire, meeting and home visit. We take special care to match the right home with the right pet, ensuring a lifetime of love for both the pet and the adopter.

Volunteer with Rescues

We cannot stress enough what a huge difference our volunteers make toward the well being of our rescues. From playtime and walks to fostering and adoption events, our dogs and cats are enriched by the time spent with each volunteer. Thank you to our amazingly compassionate volunteers and friends for the work you do!

Animal Wellness Foundation.org is helping animals through veterinary care, rescue and adoptions. You can help by volunteering and by becoming a sustaining donor.

The Animal Wellness Foundation (Foundation) is a Los Angeles-based private charitable organization with a mission of helping animals by making veterinary care available to everyone with a pet, regardless of economic ability. We organize rescue efforts and medical services for dogs and cats in need and help homeless pets find a loving caregiver. We are advocates for getting veterinarians to the front lines of the animal welfare movement; promoting responsible pet ownership; and vaccinating animals against infectious diseases such as distemper. We also support policies that prevent animal cruelty and that alleviate suffering. We believe helping animals helps us all.
