 Forever Homes Found!
In this edition of Forever Homes Found, we'd like to extend a HUGE thank you to our team of supporters in helping us continue providing top notch medical care and rehoming opportunities for rescue animals. Some of the dogs and cats featured below have ended a very long-term foster care period, finally finding forever as an adopted pet. Others didn't miss a beat and found homes shortly after their rescue.

Each babe has been spayed or neutered and appropriately vaccinated. Some of our adults and seniors have received needed surgery including dentals, mass removals, and cherry-eye correction as well as treatments to cure for infections.

Thank you to our partner, Animal Wellness Centers, for your hard work and for offering free wellness evaluations for all newly adopted animals.

Upcoming Dog & Puppy Adoption Event

ROMEO
A lesson of patience and perseverance.

Romeo had two separate adopters return him because of his inclination to bite when surprised or over stimulated and his defensive behavior around certain men. We believe there is always a match for each dog or cat, even if the options are limited. We were committed to finding Romeo's match.
Maria and Mike took Romeo in as a foster one year ago. They already had 4 other dogs in their home, but their love and understanding of animals, especially rescues, is strong. Romeo's fear in men dissipated as he bonded quickly with Mike. After much needed work and patience, they made the adoption official this month!

That adorable and charming boy Romeo certainly comes with his quirks and challenges, but he and his new family are a great example of how patience and perseverance makes all the difference in our lives and the lives of our rescues.

BUCKY was rescued this spring with a serious case of cherry-eyes and some signs of neurological issues. His spirit never wavered. He gave so much love and energy to everyone he met at our clinic and among our staff and volunteers.  At an adoption event, Bucky found his foster-to-adopt family, with a new furry girl friend named Peanut, who simply cannot get enough of him.

His new family stuck by his neurological medicine regimen and stayed by his side through his neuter and cherry-eye surgery performed at Animal Wellness Centers.

We are beyond thrilled to announce that Bucky's foster family has made it official! Congratulations to John, Gaelyn and their son! The joy oozes from all the photos and videos they have shared.
Bucky then.
Bucky now!

MILTON was found hungry, dehydrated, dirty and lost on a hiking trail in Simi Valley on a hot day, with no collar or chip. Thankfully, a family took him in and contacted a compassionate volunteer in our network.

While in our care, Milton (a senior dog) was nothing short of sweet, though very underweight and a little stressed, understandably. He would only eat small amounts of food when hand fed which is common in dogs who were kept outside and fed scraps. Staff kept close eyes on him, and when the time was right performed his neuter surgery and gave Milton his needed vaccines.
MILTON NOW
Thanks to our volunteer, Jessica, for posting Milton at the right time! His new mom gives him only the best, including walks on the beach, big snuggly beds, and lots of hand fed home-cooked meals - and most importantly a new senior best buddy named Stella.

THELMA AND LOU (formerly Champagne and Kahlua) landed a foster home earlier this summer. We appreciate when fosters are up to taking siblings or bonded pairs, keeping them thriving together and making double the fun! After a few events, their foster mom and dad decided they couldn't part with these two ladies who were already family to them. They enjoy afternoon naps with mom, lots of playtime and photoshoots, and most of all - love.

LUNA and JETT are the sweetest girls who were being overlooked at adoption events because they start out quiet and shy. They found a wonderful foster mom and their personalities began to shine. They now live with their loving adopters, Jen and DJ, two super cat-experienced parents. We couldn't be more happy!

SIENNA spent the last year in and out of the shelter, a result of potential neglect on the part of her previous owner. She is an adult lab mix with a heart of gold.

Thanks to our rock star volunteer, Lotta, for bringing Sienna to our attention and aiding in finding her a home. Sienna's new mom is 200% in, already treating Sienna to a needed dental repair, lots of exercise and pampering. She is fully invested in Sienna and for that we are grateful.

WALTER (formerly known as Hennessy) is busy being adored by his new mom, Diamond, who has another kitty and dog. They're all getting along puurrrfectly!

CIROC was rescued as a baby off the streets with his litter. He was the only baby of five who would hide and withdraw. With time and socialization given by staff and volunteers, Ciroc began to blossom into a mischievous, affectionate and playful boy.

Black cats are often very hard to adopt out because of old and false myths and the challenges of capturing good photos. But anyone who knows about black cats, knows how affectionate and unique their spirits are.

At our recent adoption event, a lovely couple fell in love with him. He now goes by the name Loki and lives with a new best buddy, Roa. They play all day.

Congrats to the rest of our unforgettable rescues who found forever homes this month!

FRIBY, COCO, MIDNIGHT, PIPPY, HIPPY, PINKY
Congrats to our rescues in foster-to-adopt homes:

Puppies Boots and Benny (now Princess) and kitten Nasa!

Our Adoption Process

Our adoption process was designed to help ensure that we select the best homes for our animals and includes a questionnaire, meeting and home visit. We take special care to match the right home with the right pet, ensuring a lifetime of love for both the pet and the adopter.

Volunteer with Rescues

We cannot stress enough what a huge difference our volunteers make toward the well being of our rescues. From playtime and walks to fostering and adoption events, our dogs and cats are enriched by the time spent with each volunteer. Thank you to our amazingly compassionate volunteers and friends for the work you do!

Animal Wellness Foundation.org is helping animals through veterinary care, rescue and adoptions. You can help by volunteering and by becoming a sustaining donor.

The Animal Wellness Foundation (Foundation) is a Los Angeles-based private charitable organization with a mission of helping animals by making veterinary care available to everyone with a pet, regardless of economic ability. We organize rescue efforts and medical services for dogs and cats in need and help homeless pets find a loving caregiver. We are advocates for getting veterinarians to the front lines of the animal welfare movement; promoting responsible pet ownership; and vaccinating animals against infectious diseases such as distemper. We also support policies that prevent animal cruelty and that alleviate suffering. We believe helping animals helps us all.
